Apple will hold its highly anticipated WWDC 2022 event on Monday and we expect a plethora of changes to come with new firmware updates. iOS 15 was a minor update in terms of visual variations, but iOS 16 would bring several changes to the Notifications and Lock screen. We also expect Apple to announce some new hardware at the event, possibly a redesigned MacBook Air with an M2 chip. The new MacBook Air is rumored to be available in a wide range of color options. Now a prominent analyst suggests the rumors are likely “exaggerated”. Scroll down to read more details on the subject.
Analyst Suggests Apple’s Redesigned MacBook Air Will Feature Same Colors as Current Models
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in a Tweeter that Apple’s next redesigned MacBook Air M2 will be available in space gray, silver and gold color options. We’ve already heard that the new MacBook Air, set to launch at WWDC 2022, will come in a wide range of iMac-like colors. Gurman suggests that reports of multiple color options for the MacBook Air are likely “exaggerated”. However, the gold color option could be changed slightly with a champagne hue. Additionally, Gurman also wants to see the MacBook Air in a shade of blue.
The widely held idea of the new MacBook Air coming in a range of “multiple colors” is probably overblown. Right now, it’s available in space gray, silver, and gold. I wouldn’t expect more of these colors (although the new gold looks more like champagne) plus my favorite iMac color. pic.twitter.com/vYl56FOikg

Right now, we’ve heard that the 2022 MacBook Air will get a complete design change with an off-white bezel and keyboard. It is not yet clear whether the machine will feature a notch or stick to heavy bezels. Perhaps Apple could adopt the design of the MacBook Pro and streamline its product line. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously said the redesigned MacBook Air would come in “more color options,” but no further details were provided.
In terms of internals, we expect Apple to launch the new MacBook Air with an upgraded M2 chip. However, Kuo suggests that Apple will focus on the design this time around with an M1 chip being part of the mix. Note that this is just speculation at this point and that Apple could potentially release upcoming MacBook Air models in several new colors. From now on, take the news with tweezers.
We’ll share more details about the redesigned MacBook Air M2 as more information becomes available. What are you expecting from Apple’s WWDC 2022 event? Let us know in the comments.
