ASUS kicks off Android 12 update rollout for ZenFone 7, ZenFone 7 Pro – Phandroid

In October last year, ASUS announced that it would kick off its Android 12 update rollout starting in December 2021. The first devices mentioned were the ZenFone 8 series and the ZenFone 7 series, with the latter set to receive its update. updated in the first half of 2022.

The good news is that it looks like things are progressing pretty well because in a post on the ZenTalk forums, ASUS announced that the Android 12 update is now making its way to the ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro, which were both at originally launched in 2020, so it’s good to see ASUS keeping some of its older devices. According to ASUS:

“Since the server sends the update notice to different serial numbers in batches, it may take a few days to receive the FOTA notice. Thank you for your patience. You can press “System Updates” in [Settings] >[System] to check if new firmware is available. Or, you can also try updating the firmware manually by referring to the following link.

If you don’t see the update available for your handset yet, as the company notes, it will be rolled out in batches, so if you’re not getting any notification for an update, that’s because it’s not round your lot just yet. We don’t know how long it will take ASUS to complete the rollout, but please be patient and it should make it to you eventually.
