BALTIMORE, June 15, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sinclair Broadcast Group’s national free-to-air multicast television networks, COMET, CHARGE! and To be determined today announced a wide range of network affiliation upgrades and new TV series additions, bolstering the networks as we approach the 2022/23 TV season.

By September, the networks will add more than 13 million new TV homes to their existing footprint. The upgrades include moving to stronger broadcast subsidiaries, several of which include DMA-wide MVPD distribution, through new agreements with CBS Stations, COX Media Group, Nexstar Media Group and Optimum, as well as the added national distribution on Dish Network and Sling TV.

Highlights include:

  • CHARGE!, a network for fans of action programming, will have completed the following cast updates by September:

    • New York (Market 1) – DMA Launches on Optimum Channel 148

    • Portland, OR (Market 21) and Providence (Market 52) ​​- Plays stations owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group on ABC-affiliated channel 2.2 KATU and NBC-affiliated channel 10.2 WJAR

    • At national scale – Launching on Dish Network’s Internet-connected set-top boxes on channel 290-36 as well as Sling TV.

  • COMET, the only broadcast network in the United States for sci-fi fans, will have completed the following cast updates by September:

    • Atlanta (Market 7) and Boston (Market 10) – Moved to COX Media Group-owned ABC-affiliated 2.4 WSB channel and FOX-affiliated WFXT 25.2 channel (which includes DMA-wide MVPD broadcast)

    • Vegas (Market 40) – Moves to KSNV 2.3 channel, NBC affiliate owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group

  • To be determined, a network for Internet content fans and one of the youngest biased broadcast networks in the United States, will have completed the following distribution upgrades by September:

    • Atlanta (Market 7) and Boston (Market 10) – Moved to CW-affiliated channel 69.3 WUPA and CBS Stations-owned channel 38.3 WSBK

    • Indianapolis (Market 25) – Launch on WTTV 4.4, a CBS subsidiary owned by Nexstar Media Group

With the new series additions made this month, the networks have seen widespread growth, delivering some of the strongest primetime and late-night schedules in the multicast space. Series launches include:

  • buffy the vampire slayer joined COMET’s prime-time lineup beginning June 6eairs weeknights 7-9 p.m. ET, paired with X files 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET

    • 543,000 total viewers watched during the show’s two-hour premiere, improving the time frame by 108%

    • Highest series premiere since 2020 and second highest in network history

  • CSI: NY joined the primetime lineup of CHARGE! from June 6eairs weeknights 6-9 p.m. ET, paired with Expert: Miami 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET
