Over the past few months, countless Galaxy S22 Ultra customers have turned to the official Samsung Community Forums complaining about cell phone problems and dropped phone calls. Several firmware updates later, it seems that the situation has improved, at least for some users.

Although some Samsung customers on the community forums still seem to be having GSM issues on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, others are claiming that the June 2022 security patch fixed the issue, or at least it did. made less annoying.

Samsung started rolling out the June 2022 security patch for the Galaxy S22 series last week. The new firmware improves security and fixes other bugs, some of which affect the Camera app.

Regarding the GSM issues that have been plaguing some Galaxy S22 Ultra devices for months, a community forum poster with the name “fasco” noted that the problem with GSM only manifests itself on the network of a certain operator, but not on others.

If this is true, it could mean that GSM problems may be related in some way to the technologies employed by some carriers in their GSM towers and antennas. The Galaxy S22 Ultra may not get along with some network equipment, but the June update may have fixed the issue for many customers.
