HarmonyOS 3.0 shuffles status bar icons

Huawei is conducting a HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta on smartphones and the company has changed the software’s tray icons. Although the swap was minor, it says a lot about Huawei’s intention to make the OS perfect, as it now looks deeper roots and removes all weak angles.

As for the status bar shuffle, Huawei changed the position of some icons from left to right in HarmonyOS 3.0. For example, the WiFi icons are now moved to the right, while the clock has been moved to the left along with the notification icon. Some icons have also been removed from the status bar and should no longer display.

Comparing these changes to HarmonyOS 2.0.

HarmonyOS 2.0 has WiFi and notification icons on the left while keeping the rest of the icons on the right. As you can see, the clock was on the right side of the status bar.

Changes in position could be linked to consumer reactions. However, this is not a final software image. As it will be continuously improved on the road to start public beta testing for more Huawei smartphone users.

Subsequent feedback will further shape HarmonyOS 3.0 for the final release.

A week ago, Huawei began recording the HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta for public Huawei smartphone users. This allows phone owners to enter the beta program stage and download the latest HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta firmware.

According to the information, Huawei is still registering smartphone owners in China for HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta testing until July 15. Thereafter, the company will continue to evaluate and send betas for registered Huawei devices under the beta testing phase.

Currently, the Huawei HarmonyOS 3.0 developer beta has started testing on the following models: P50, P50 Pro, P50 Pocket, Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro 4G, Mate 40 Pro+, Mate 40 RS Porsche Design. Huawei tablet: MatePad Pro 12.6 inch 2021 model.
