Fitbit offers an extensive portfolio of smartwatches and trackers, including the Fitbit Ace, Inspire, Charge series and many more.

While Fitbit provides Support to all the trackers and smartwatches that are currently in its portfolio, it also supports some of its discontinued products.

This means that the fitness provider provides software updates including improvements, bug fixes, and even new features for its devices.

However, sometimes Fitbit trackers and smartwatches don’t work as they should. The Fitbit community is full of bug reports and threads from Fitbit users.

Fitbit attempts to resolve most issues and problems by quickly assisting affected users through various troubleshooting steps and software updates. However, it is not possible to get rid of all software-related issues.

As a reminder, several connectivity issues have been reported with Fitbit Luxe, notifications not coming on Fitbit Versa 3, and more.

On the other hand, there were SpO2 data synchronization and “notification service not working” issues with the Fitbit app which is used to manage trackers and smartwatches on smartphones.

Moreover, the Fitbit operating system Update 5.2.1 was released fairly recently for Fitbit Sense and Versa 3, however, it did more harm than good. More on that here.

All in all, there is always a possibility of bugs and issues affecting gadgets like Fitbit even after proper maintenance.

12:25 p.m. (IST): Fitbit users are reporting an issue where their Fitbits seem to send emails to its users’ contact lists. The Fitbit team says it’s looking to prevent or minimize the impact.

5:26 p.m. (IST): The incorrect floor/step counter bug also seems to plague the Fitbit Sense. A mod has confirmed that a fix is ​​in the works. Go here to find out more.

Update 3 (06 October)

6:36 p.m. (IST): Fitbit Luxe users who are experiencing connectivity issues should make sure to install the latest available update if they haven’t already. The software update was supposed to fix connectivity issues on the device.

Update 4 (October 12)

11:00 a.m. (IST): The Fitbit Luxe gets a new update with version 1.151.16 and this version brings the SpO2 tracker with always-on display. Here is the change log.

Update 5 (October 23)

6:30 p.m. (IST): Fitbit has recognized the issue where the step sequence disappeared. The developers said they are working on a fix.

Update 6 (October 30)

7:00 p.m. (IST): Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 are getting the Fitbit OS 5.3 update. Check out the full changelog for the update below.

– Status indicators on your smartwatch let you know when your device’s battery is critically low, Do Not Disturb or Sleep mode is on, or your device isn’t connected to your phone. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?

12:03 p.m. (IST): Fitbit is now rolling out the Daily Readiness feature to a section of its devices. The daily readiness score reveals whether you are ready to train or rest.

Update 8 (November 24)

6:18 p.m. (IST): The Fitbit Charge 5 recently picked up a update like version 1.149.11 which adds the ability to assess your heart for atrial fibrillation (AFib) – an irregular heartbeat – with the Fitbit ECG app.

Update 9 (January 21)

5:10 p.m. (IST): Some Pixel 6 and 6 Pro users are now reporting (1, 2) that the Fitbit app is draining their phone’s battery.

Users say they also tried setting the app to limit battery usage and turn off notifications, but noticed no difference in battery drain.

Update 10 (March 3)

4:44 p.m. (IST): Fitbit is reportedly recalling its Ionic smartwatches after receiving 117 burn reports. The company also offers refunds to buyers. More about this here.

Update 11 (March 14)

12:43 p.m. (IST): This could be the possible reason for the battery drain issue on Pixel 6 devices. Additionally, the moderator has also provided a workaround that may help affected users.

Update 12 (March 16)

1:27 p.m. (IST): Fitbit support has recognized the issue where the sleep log does not record the correct end time. Also, the developers are currently working to fix this issue.

Update 13 (March 17)

6:39 p.m. (IST): A user reports an issue, where they show an error that the active challenge limit has been reached and they cannot do any challenges. Fortunately, support has recognized and says they are working on a solution.

Also some users get useless login Error when trying to access Fitbit Gallery. The error says “Oops, it looks like there is no internet connection”.

Fortunately, a moderator has suggested a workaround to fix this error. Users should try disabling VPN, AdBlocker, or a private DNS configuration if they have one.

Update 14 (March 26)

6:25 p.m. (IST): Fitbit is reportedly working on new wearables codenamed Hera, Rhea and Nyota. However, the report suggests that these wearables may not come with Google’s Wear operating system. More on that here.

11:20 a.m. (IST): Fitbit users are reporting that the skin temperature reading feature is not working as expected, with Versa 3 owners reporting they are getting a transcription error. More on that here.

7:11 p.m. (IST): A Fitbit community moderator has now confirmed that the text transcription voice response error has now been fixed.
