US IP Attaché Visits Andhra University


United States Intellectual Property Attaché for South Asia, Embassy of the United States of America, New Delhi, John Cabeca, visited Andhra University on Tuesday at the request of H Purushotham from the Department of Promotion of Industry and Industry Commerce (DPIIT-IPR Chair).

PVGD Vice Chancellor Prasad Reddy received and congratulated him. Professor Prasad Reddy told Mr. John that American Corner is being established in the university and will educate students who wish to pursue higher education in American universities about the opportunities available for higher education, the art, culture and customs of the United States. . The center will also raise awareness about visa processes and other things, he added.

Registrar V. Krishna Mohan briefed Mr. John on the various IPR activities that have been initiated in the university. Professor Purushotham has asked Mr John Cabeca to consider signing a memorandum of understanding with the university.

Mr. John expressed satisfaction with the various intellectual property and innovation activities implemented at the university and said that respect for the rights of intellectual property creators should be encouraged in society to attract investment and promote innovation. He said he would explore the feasibility of a partnership with AU to strengthen the intellectual property and innovation ecosystem on campus.
