Xiaomi has announced that software and firmware upgrades will no longer be available for the Redmi Note 7, Redmi K20, Redmi 7, Mi Play and Mi 9 SE, among other handsets (including security updates).
According to the Chinese company, cellphones on the End of Support (EOS) list may not even respond to security vulnerability reports.
According to Xiaomi’s EOS listing, which was posted on its official Telegram channel – Mi Fans Home, a handful of handsets will no longer receive software or firmware updates. Redmi K20, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7S, Redmi Note 7, Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Mi Pad 4 Plus, Mi Pad 4, Mi Play and Mi 9 SE are some of the smartphones on the list.
The MIUI 13 update will not be available for these devices. At the time of their launch in 2019, the Redmi Note 7 series and the Redmi K20 were popular smartphones in their respective categories.
